Our Flock

Our sheep are descended from the award-winning bloodlines of Powell Ranch, Walnut Ridge and Polka Dot Pastures.

The breed was developed in South Africa’s arid regions to convert low-quality roughage into high-quality lamb. Therefore, the Dorper is hardy and well adapted to survive in tough conditions and climates.

The Dorper is a fast-growing, meat-producing sheep. Dorpers are hair sheep that produce a fleece that sheds by late spring. The Dorper has high fertility and maternal instinct, combined with high growth rates, which make the breed an attractive choice for farmers looking for an easy-care animal that requires minimal input of labor.
